Welcome to Mizu Aikido Dojo

"You can try to turn back a stream, but you will have to use brute force to do it. How much easier it is to honour the power of the stream and lead it wherever you wish." Koichi Tohei, What is Aikido, 1962

Mizu is a Japanese word that means water. Aikido techniques teach you flow with the natural principles of the universe, not to fight.

Aikido is a non-aggressive, energetic martial art - a compassionate form of self defence. The practice of aikido techniques (both as attacker and defender) teaches you to unify the body and mind.

The Mizu Dojo is located at the Endeavour College of Natural Health in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We are an Aikido Yuishinkai dojo - a safe but dynamic style of aikido suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.
